Fit & Sizing
What size am I?
Check out our size guides here. We recommend using a tape measure to find the perfect fit.
In between sizes? We suggest sizing down for a more compressive fit, and sizing up for a more relaxed fit.
If you’re still unsure about your size, write to us at support@lunaeactive.com and we’d be more than happy to help you out.
Are your leggings squat-proof?
We get it, no one wants a pair of see through leggings. That’s why all our leggings are tried and tested by us, with the ability to withstand any workout.
Do all colors fit and feel the same?
Just in case you notice that some of our colors have a different hand-feel, each color goes through a unique dyeing and brushing process, resulting in some feeling slightly stretchier than others. Don’t worry though, all of our colors carry the same durability, compression, and quality across the board.
Product Information & Care
How do I wash and take care of my Lunae pieces?
Wash cold with similar colors - although our pieces are designed to last, you can help extend their life longer following the tips below:
Classic hand washing:
Feel free to do this in the sink, tub or shower. Just drop a blob of detergent, scrub-a-dub-dub, rinse, and lay flat to dry. No sweat!
Machine washing:
Remember, the delicate cycle is your friend. Lay them flat to dry - don’t wring em’ - and please keep them out of the dryer. It’s better for the environment (yay!), not to mention being the best way to take care of your clothes!
Don’t forget to remove the removable pads before popping them into the machine so they don’t lose their shape. Ideally they should be washed by hand separately. With just a small blob of detergent, gently scrub, rinse and reshape the cups with your hands and hang to dry.
What’s more, do not bleach or iron them and you are good to go!
Sustainability & Manufacturing
What is the deal with your recycled canvas bag?
It’s cute isn’t it? It’s our 100% recycled bag that we use to ship your clothes in to avoid plastic poly bag packaging - you can wash it, but it’s not a wash bag that catches microfibers.
It’s made with recycled canvas, perfect for that everyday use.
No one needs an extra tote bag so we figured why not make it into a cute bag that you can bring anywhere and everywhere.
We foresee that this will be one of your favorite bags yet!
Is everything eco-friendly?
You bet! We are committed to being part of the change, so being eco-friendly is at the top of our priorities. From the fabric of our clothes to the packaging we use, here’s a breakdown and how it all works-out (no pun intended).
Packaging:
Our packaging is all FSC certified, 100% recycled and recyclable, so don’t throw them out! They can be tossed in with your paper recycling and are all naturally biodegradable.
Bras + Leggings:
Crafted from 100% recycled fiber produced from post-consumer waste, such as carpets and plastic bottles using recycled nylon.
Core Collection: 77% recycled nylon + 23% elastane
Wildflower Collection: 73% recycled polyester and 27% creora power fit
Reusable bag:
Our reusable bag is made from recycled canvas. Picture your favorite tote bag with a sustainable makeover in our signature green. So not only is it reusable, durable and adorable, it’s just as good for our planet as everything else.
How do you turn post-consumer waste, such as carpets and plastic bottles into clothes?
Here’s a not so fun fact for you - did you know that almost all synthetic activewear is made from plastic? Boom. We just make ours with materials that would otherwise clog landfills and pollute the ocean.
Our Core Collection fabric is crafted from 100% recycled fiber made using Repreve recycled nylon, produced from post-consumer waste, such as carpets, and plastic bottles. It is composed of 77% recycled nylon and 23% elastane, performs exactly the same as virgin nylon but gives you a sustainable edge, turning trash into treasure.
For every kilogram of Repreve material produced, we’re able to conserve 62% of energy, save 99% of water, avoid 35% of waste and a 20% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions as compared to the production of virgin nylon. Best of all, the need for crude oil, refinery, and chemical extraction is not required.
The fabrication begins at the recycling facility, where plastic bottles are sorted, washed, and chopped into flakes. The clean flakes are blended, melted and turned into Repreve recycled chips and loaded into silos.
Here, 1 silo holds the equivalent of 27 million plastic bottles!
The chips then enter a state of the art extrusion and texturing process and get transformed into fibers with inherent performance properties. From wicking, thermal regulation, to odor control and cushioning, Repreve is the only Fiber with U Trust, which certifies recycled contents claims through traceable, FiberPrint™ technology.
Where do you manufacture?
Our Repreve fabric is sourced from the USA, and our garments are sewn in our partner factory in Bali, Indonesia under ethical conditions that adheres to the strict regulations on treatment of employees, waste disposal and sanitation.
Our partner factory guarantees fair wages, safe and healthy working conditions for everyone. They also offer rehousing and education, partnering with local charity - Bali Street Mums - dedicated to helping women and children who are typically homeless and living off rubbish dumps.
Why Bali? Why not in Australia?
You may not know this, but a lot of the best manufacturers for high-performance fabrics are located overseas. To produce our premium activewear, we found that the only machines up to the challenge were in Bali. - Did you know that the people here are super experienced in this too? Also, who doesn’t like Bali?
With our manufacturers, we emphasized that quality is very important to us. After all, we just want to make sure we are giving you the best product your money can buy.
How do we know you’re really using recycled fabrics?
We want to be as transparent as possible with you.
Our recycled fabric has been certified by the Global Recycled Standard (GRS), a voluntary product standard for tracking and verifying the content of recycled materials in our fabric. They address traceability, environmental principles, social requirements, chemical contents and labeling, so you know our commitment to the truth in our materials in support of a circular economy to reduce waste.
Our recycled fabric is also certified Oeko-Tex Standard 100, the world’s leader in testing textiles for harmful substances. They make extensive tests for harmful substances, so you know exactly what you’re putting on your body, stress-free!
What can I do about microfibers?
Synthetic fabric = Plastic
During its lifetime, synthetic fabrics shed tiny pieces of plastic, also known as microfibers in the wash. Hand washing is best. If not, you can invest in a microfibre wash bag or microfibre catcher for your washing machine too.
We understand the importance of catching these fibers before they enter the water streams. To keep microfibers out of the oceans and away from the creatures that inhabit them, we are in the midst of finalizing our very own wash bags, so keep an eye out for this.
How do you dye?
Our fabrics are dyed with eco-friendly dyes, approved and certified by OEKO-TEX® and GOTS, the Global Organic Textile Standard, protecting the future of our planet. The raw materials used to produce the dyes are harvested in an environmentally and socially responsible manner.
The unique dyeing process can result in some irregularities in color, which are not considered as defects. Bear in mind that colors may run at first, so we recommend washing your new clothes separately or with similar colors just in case.
